Laurinburg, N.C. – Scotland Health has partnered with ApprenticeshipNC. Under the guidance of ApprenticeshipNC, this program will help provide the Scotland Health employee with structured and supervised on-the-job learning, related instruction, and a progressive wage scale as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Scotland Health has fostered a long-time strategy to offer furthering educational opportunities to all staff employed by the healthcare system. By partnering with the ApprenticeshipNC program, this will allow more opportunities for Scotland Health employees to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) that desire to do so.
Kelvin D. Oxendine, Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President of Human Resources stated, “It’s the best of both worlds – the participants will get paid while they learn. We are very excited to be able to provide the necessary resources needed for interested associates and students to further their education. This program is being piloted so far in our primary and specialty care practices. We look forward to more interest and expanding this program as it is a gateway to a permanent position in the health care field.”
