Scotland Health is proud to announce that President and CEO David Pope has been honored with the Dr. Collie Coleman Spirit of Unity Award during the 24th Annual Business Visions Awards Banquet at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
The Dr. Collie Coleman Spirit of Unity Award is presented annually to individuals who exemplify a commitment to community service and unity. Named in memory of the late Dr. Collie Coleman, former associate vice chancellor of Outreach at UNC Pembroke, the award celebrates leaders who embody Dr. Coleman’s legacy as an educator, community activist, and advocate for humanity.
David Pope’s leadership at Scotland Health reflects these values through his dedication to improving healthcare access, fostering partnerships, and championing initiatives that strengthen the well-being of the communities served by Scotland Health and beyond. His vision and collaborative approach have made a lasting impact through his and the health care system's vision to make Scotland Health the premiere rural health care system of the Carolinas. He was recognized for his advocacy for improving access to quality health care locally as well as across the state of North Carolina.
"I am deeply honored to receive an award that represents unity and service," said Pope. "Dr. Coleman’s legacy is an inspiration, and I am grateful to work alongside so many who share a commitment to making our communities stronger."
