Scotland Health Welcomes Lila Banks, APRN, MSN, FNP-C to Pembroke Family Practice and Urgent Care

Scotland Health is pleased to announce that Lila Banks, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, has joined the provider team at Pembroke Family Practice & Urgent Care, expanding access to primary care services for patients and families throughout the region. 

A Robeson County native, Banks brings a strong background in primary care, emergency medicine, hospice care, behavioral health, and acute care nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). 

Before becoming a family nurse practitioner, Banks spent more than five years working as a registered nurse in a variety of healthcare settings, including emergency medicine, hospice care, psychiatric nursing, and inpatient hospital care. Her previous experience includes serving as a registered nurse at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond, Monarch Tanglewood Arbor, Medi Home Hospice, Scotland Regional Hospice, and Scotland Memorial Hospital. 

Most recently, Banks practiced as a primary care provider at TruCare Family Practice & Aesthetics in Lumberton, where she provided comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Her clinical experience includes preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness visits, diagnostic testing, medication management, and patient education.

During her nurse practitioner training, Banks completed clinical rotations in primary care and family medicine at practices in Laurinburg, caring for patients across the lifespan and treating a variety of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, obesity, and mental health concerns.

Banks is known for her compassionate approach to care, strong communication skills, and commitment to helping patients navigate their healthcare needs. Her experience with EPIC and her extensive background in hospice, emergency, and primary care settings provide a well-rounded perspective to patient care.
